Scheduling In Breaks

Do you struggling with taking a break? Maybe scheduling in breaks is the key for you!

Being able to take a break is so important to our physical and mental well-being.
Recently I’ve noticed myself struggling to find the time to take a break (again).

A breakthrough came when I was listening to a podcast about scheduling in breaks.

The guest said (as an aside) “I schedule in breaks into my day like I schedule my meetings”. They went on to describe how, with their need to stick to their diary from a business perspective, it was then a simple step to adhere to breaks that they scheduled in. What a fabulous idea!

If you find yourself moving from pillar to post throughout the day with no let up, and yet you’re able to stick to your diary schedule, create yourself a code and schedule in a couple of 10-minute breaks in each day. Colleagues who want to book meetings in with you see an appointment and schedule around it and you get a small block of downtime to gather your thoughts and maybe even have a brew.

Scheduling in breaks does seem like an easy fix if your diary tends to run your life. Let me know how you get on in the comments below or by getting in touch on my contacts page.
