Coming to therapy for the first time can feel overwhelming. I understand how you feel as I have been there myself.

You can expect an environment in which you will feel safe and supported so you can discuss anything that you may wish to.
In our first session we will discuss why you are coming to see me. I will allow time to discuss the practical aspects of therapy as well being able to answer any questions that you may have at that time. We will also discuss your experience of and expectations of hypnotherapy to ease any concerns you may have.
Online therapy sessions are 1 hour in length.

How many sessions you will need or wish to attend is up to you.
Some people come to therapy for only a few sessions and feel huge benefits. Other clients start with a few sessions and then continue attending for a longer period as they discover more about themselves that they want to work on.
How long you stay in therapy and when you end therapy is your choice and I’ll support you for however long you need.
How often we meet is entirely up to you.
Some clients like to meet weekly whilst others prefer slightly longer gaps in-between sessions. The choice is yours.
There is no pressure to attend multiple sessions and we can discuss your wishes around this at the start of your first session.
Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state which most people find incredibly relaxing.
You can find more information on hypnosis and hypnotherapy by clicking here.
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring, relaxing and safe state. It is also a skill that can be learnt and enhanced, meaning that every time you enter a hypnotic trance, it becomes easier to do so the next time.
Some people spend their first few hypnotherapy sessions wondering if they are ‘doing it correctly’. Their inner voice constantly checking in with what’s going on. This is perfectly normal. I was exactly the same when I first started on my hypnotherapy journey. Everyone is nervous or excited about going into hypnosis the first time.
I will be there to guide you through our hypnotherapy sessions to ensure that you are safe and supported. After each session of hypnotherapy, we can discuss how you felt and what you experienced. This helps me to customise my approach to your hypnotherapy sessions in the future, allowing you to enter into as quick and deep a trance as you’d like to.
You are always in control during a trance, no matter how deep into a trace you go. You will not do or say anything that you do not want to. For example, if I was to ask you for your debit card pin number, you would be straight back in the room to ask me what I was doing.
I work within the ethical frameworks of UKCP, NSTT and CNHC, meaning that I always work with your best interests at the heart.
Conducting hypnotherapy online is no different than in person and is perfectly safe.
Online sessions take place on a secure platform called Vsee . There is no setup process as it all takes place through a web browser.
You’ll need a camera and a microphone to get started. It’s also worth ensuring that you have a private, quiet space in which to conduct the session uninterrupted.
There are a few other considerations that we will talk through before we start, but these are very simple and easy to follow.
When and how you end therapy is your decision.
My advice would be that we discuss your wish to end therapy during a session, in order to plan a final session together to wrap up your therapy with me. However, if you decide to simply stop attending, that’s your right to do so.
If you don’t turn up for a session and I don’t hear from you, I’ll follow up with you twice by text. After that I’ll presume you no longer want to attend therapy anymore, no questions asked.
You are more than welcome to begin attending therapy again at a later date if you wish.
Your face to face therapy will take place at near Wood Street (just off Market Street) in Westhoughton.
